New era, new web.
Hello! Finally I’m launching a new Apanona website!
And one of the things that was most clear to me in this new stage that I have started is that it was super necessary to have a new website that would present me a little better to the world. So after several months of hard work, I can finally publish the first post on the new website!
I have a few things to tell you about the new website, so I’ve been grouping them in small doses to make it more digestible.
A temporary and spiritual retreat from the networks to gain momentum
The last few weeks I have closed the networks for two reasons. First of all to be able to mark a before and after in this new stage of Apanona. Until now I had used the networks in a more personal way since my project had become in recent years a secondary professional activity (which does not mean that I did not feel it was super important, on the contrary). Apanona is now taking center stage again, so it was necessary to review how I communicate and how I manage networks. A new tone and a new rhythm for a new era that I hope to take little by little.
Secondly because I’ve been working hard on the design and development of this website and I have to say that I’m very happy with the result 😀 As you can see I’m still moving in a similar style to the previous page: a clear dominance of the color white and a minimalist style with the basic purpose of making the drawings and designs stand out as much as possible. But unlike the previous page, this one contains elements that give it more visual dynamism, such as the small animations with my illustrations at the beginning or some carousels on the pages.
WordPress is not what it used to be
Holy, it’s been a long time since I’ve built an entire website (since 2015 to be exact!) and I’m pretty blown away by how far everything has come in just a few years. While I think I’ve done pretty well, there are a few things I still need to work out (apologies in advance) and it might not be fully responsive or a link is missing or you can’t find the information you’re looking for… just a soon I will be tuning all the instruments so that the orchestra sounds great and the web is well rounded.
The shop will have to wait a little
One of the things that I haven’t been able to incorporate into the web has been the shop. I will ask for outside help so I can put it here and have everything centralized. While I don’t have the shop ready, you can make your purchases comfortably in the store I have on the Etsy platform. Right now you will only find one product (I will formally present it to you shortly!) but little by little I will be adding stationery and sheets so that you can fill your day to day with joy and tenderness.
Building the portfolio
Another section that is still “in progress” is that of WORK. Although you can already see some work there, building a good portfolio is a laborious task. Since I’m the only worker at Apanona at the moment and I can’t touch so many keys at the same time, I hope to be able to grow this section in the coming weeks.
… and last, but not least
One of the things you will probably have noticed here and on the networks is the new Apanona logo. I haven’t had a new one in a long time. Since it’s a bit long to explain, I’ll talk about it more calmly another day in another post.
